Black Eyed Peas – Boom Boom Pow (vídeo y letra)

Este tema, que actualmente es número 1 en Estados Unidos, Francia, Reino Unido o Alemania, es el primer sencillo del álbum «The E.N.D.» (The energy never dies) de los Black Eyed Peas. Dicho álbum será lanzado el próximo 9 de Junio, aunque este «Boom Boom Pow» fue publicado el pasado 10 de Marzo para ir abriendo boca. La canción utiliza mucho el auto-tune en las voces de todo el grupo.

Según Fergie, «Boom Boom Pow» no es el típico primer sencillo, porque no tiene ese estribillo facilón que hace las canciones agradables al instante, es más complicada. Hemos sido siempre unos inadaptados y ésta es una obra derivada de ello. Cuesta acostumbrarse a la canción, pero finalmente te engancha y ello es debido a que fuimos muy fieles a nosotros.»

El vídeo es muy tecnológico, haciendo referencias al mundo digital y el nacimiento de la misma en un entorno futurista. Fergie comentó: «Nosotros nos transformamos en una clase de nacimiento o capullo, donde salimos al final convertidos en diferentes clases de energía. Es una alegoría paralela a la industria de la música. Ahora todo se descarga.»

Según Will.i.am, el vídeo trata sobre cómo el mundo se ha convertido en un entorno muy digital y espera que el vídeo transmita «lo que pasaría si estuviésemos dentro de un ordenador y el arte se fusionara dentro de él. Como la vida analógica desde una perspectiva digital, convirtiéndose en tecnología.»
