No sabía lo que esperaba del regreso de las Spice Girls, pero viendo este single, que formará parte de un recopilatorio donde vendrán sólo dos canciones nuevas (Voodoo y Headlines (Friendship never ends)), la verdad que se podrían haber estado quietas.
Para mi esta balada como regreso no aporta nada, es más bien sosona, el vídeo no es muy simpático, y se dedican simplemente a estar monas. ¿Dónde quedó el espíritu friki de las Spice Girls? Cada una representaba un rol (scary, baby, pija, deportista…), pero es que en este vídeo… ¡todas son posh! Vamos, la Victoria Beckham pero multiplicada por cinco.
Supongo que este regreso obedece a intereses económicos, aunque no sé yo si esta canción tan indefinida logrará ser un hit. No creo que lo sea por méritos propios, sino más bien por el renombre que estas chicas obtuvieron, y que de momento les servirá para publicitarse.
Y eso que yo soy fan acérrimo de las Spice Girls, pero la verdad que esta canción no me dice nada. Eso sí, están todas muy guapas y se las ve algo más maduras que de costumbre, que no sé si es bueno o malo, pero ya no pega con eso de ser “girls”.
El recopilatorio se llamará “Spice Girls: Greatest hits” (¿original no?) y llegará a las tiendas este 13 de Noviembre. Este es el listado del CD:

El primer single, con la canción inédita “Headlines (Friendship never ends)” (si, never ends, que se lo digan a Geri Haliwell cuando las dejó colgadas), vendrá con una remezcla inédita de “Wannabe” y servirá para recaudar fondos de beneficencia para la asociación “Children in need”.
Por cierto, también habrá una edición de CD+DVD que incluirá 12 vídeos; prácticamente los mismos que el listado del CD salvo las dos canciones nuevas y la de “Move over”, que fue usada en la publicidad de Pepsi.
Este es el vídeo de este nuevo single, del cual me he enterado de algunas cosas del rodaje, que fue deplorable y desesperante:
“Emma Bunton, quien recientemente ha sido madre, lloró como un bebé porque el rodaje se alargó hasta las 3 de la madrugada; Mel B pasó todo el día quejándose de su jetlag después de volar desde Los Ángeles; Geri Halliwell se puso tiquismiquis por una marca concreta de agua embotellada y entorpeció el rodaje mientras meditaba; y Victoria Beckham dispuso de un ayudante para que la siguiera con fruta y champán. Siempre según The Sun, la maratoniana sesión fue demasiado incluso para la deportista Mel C, desesperada por irse a casa.
“Las cosas se retrasaron mucho”, explica una fuente del diario. “El director se tiraba de los pelos y amenazaba con irse. Las chicas estaban muy cansadas y Emma lloraba cuando el rodaje avanzaba. Geri hacía todo despacio para meditar y hacer extrañas cosas espirituales. Todo es como antes o incluso más grande. Y me refiero a sus egos”.
Así que aunque en este vídeo las veáis super divinas, o en la imagen de arriba riéndose, en verdad son unas pájaras de cuidado XD.
