Black Eyed Peas – Meet me halfway

Aunque aquí en España seguimos disfrutando del éxito de «I gotta feeling», que incluso esta semana es número 1 en los 40 principales, «Meet me halfway» se ha convertido finalmente en el tercer sencillo extraído de su quinto y último disco de los Black Eyed Peas, «The E.N.D.»

Fergie comentó que cuando se encontraba grabando la canción, se transportó al año 1985, cuando ella tenía 10 años y vio a Madonna por primera vez en un concierto del «Virgin Tour». Se sintió como Madonna en esta canción como homenaje.

El vídeo se estrenó el pasado 12 de Octubre y fue dirigido por Ben Mor, que ya dirigió su anterior sencillo «I gotta feeling». Para este vídeo, más que centrarse en algo futurista, han optado por un look espacial o de ciencia ficción, donde los integrantes del grupo se encuentran en diferentes espacios. Según Will.i.am, el vídeo sería más artístico y se realizará otra versión del vídeo más personal para los fans.

En el vídeo podemos ver cómo los integrantes se buscan entre ellos para llegar a una puerta dimensional común. Podemos ver a Fergie a modo de hada en un bosque salvaje, a Will.i.am en una luna de Júpiter montando un elefante, ap.de.ap levitando en un desierto con vestimenta nómada y Taboo vistiendo un traje espacial estando muy cerca del Sol. El vídeo termina con una visión de la Tierra, una carretera en el desierto, y unas estrellas fugaces que caen, que presumiblemente son los integrantes del grupo.

Aun es pronto para juzgar el éxito de esta canción, pero tras su estreno, en Estados Unidos ya es número 9 de la lista Billboard. 26 en las listas británicas.
