Cheryl Cole – The flood

Tras el primer hit «Promise this» (número uno en Reino Unido), Cheryl Cole ha publicado el segundo sencillo perteneciente a su actual disco «Messy little raindrops«, la balada titulada «The flood«. El tema fue escrito por Renea y Wayne Wilkins, siendo producido por este último junto a T-Wiz.

La canción será publicada el 3 de enero del próximo año, mientras que el vídeo se estrenó el pasado 24 de noviembre. En el mismo, podemos ver a Cheryl en una casa cercana a unos acantilados frente al mar (posiblemente los Acantilados de Dover), en un día nublado y de mar brava. Es un vídeo muy emotivo, donde aparece intranquila durmiendo en la cama, mirando con nostalgia por la ventana o paseando por la playa, quizás pensando en el amado que ha perdido en un hundimiento de barco (según nos sugieren la letra y algunas escenas fugaces de dos manos que se entrelazan en el mar). En otras escenas aparece vestida de verde como una especie de sirena mientras simula estar en el fondo del mar.

El vídeo ha sido dirigido por Sophie Muller, que de nuevo repite como directora tras «Promise this». Desde luego, me encantaría vivir en esa casita, con lo que me gusta el mar y esos días grises XD.
