Desde el 12 de febrero podemos disfrutar del primer tema de E>MC2 , el nuevo trabajo de Mariah Carey. Como nos tiene acostumbrados, es un disco lleno de buenas colaboraciones.
“Touch My Body” es el nombre de su sencillo más reciente, que apareció primeramente en formato digital para las radios estadounidenses, según anunció la revista Billboard en su sitio web. La canción se lanzó finalmente el 19 de febrero de este año.
“Marayah” sacará su nuevo disco a mediados de abril y ya han salido a la luz algunos nombres de las canciones y colaboraciones que contendrá. Billboard señaló que el disco E>MC2 saldrá el 14 de abril a la venta y, entre otros, incluirá los temas “Migrate”, “Love Story”, “Lovin’ You Long Time” y “OOC” .
Para este trabajo, Mariah buscó gente de renombre como Jermaine Dupri, Stargate, will.i.am, DJ Toomp, James Poyser, Bryan Michael Cox, Nate Danjahandz Hills, T-Pain y Damian Marley.
“Es un poco extraño, pero escuché otros muchos discos y este, en particular, suena mucho mejor que el último disco (de Mariah Carey)”, reveló Dupri a Billboard .
El trabajo al que se refería Dupri, es el anterior disco de Mariah, “Emancipation of Mimi”, el cual vendió 5,8 millones de copias solo en Estados Unidos, según los informes de la empresa Nielsen SoundScan para Billboard. Dicho trabajo también ganó dos Grammy.
Tuvo tal impacto, que el crítico de música del periódico británico “The Guardian” lo describió como un disco “fresco, centrado en lo urbano y que uno no se cansa de escuchar”.
Actualmente “Touch my body” ha alcanzado el puesto 16 en el Billboard HOT 100, lo que supone su 29 TOP20 de esa lista en su carrera. Yo creo que a este paso no va a ser un pelotazo, porque en su cuarta semana, aunque sigue subiendo, y no creo que alcance el número 1.
La canción me parece bastante normalita, del estilo repetitivo que suele usar, y quizás algo inferior a su gran hit anterior “We belong together”. Mariah, o Mimi (como quiere que le llamemos ahora), ha hecho un vídeo al estilo Ana Obregón, en el que se centra en enseñarnos la estricta dieta que ha seguido para ponerse jamona y pasarse todo el vídeo con apenas una escueta lencería.
También noto un cierto tufo egocentrista en todo, y es que Mariah se ha quedado en una cara y un cuerpo bonitos que sólo nos ofrecerá baladas melosas y poco más. La verdad es que cansa con tanto contoneo como diciendo «mira lo buena que estoy» y tocándose todo el rato.
